Summary of the contracting process

The Common Services Agency, known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), has completed a public procurement process for the "NP185/14 Oxygen at Home service." This contract falls under the healthcare services industry and is based in the United Kingdom. The procurement was initiated as a limited tender, with the contract value set at £14,600,000. The awarded supplier, Dolby Vivisol, is responsible for providing essential home oxygen equipment and support for approximately 7,100 existing patients, with provisions for future patients as needed. The contract spans five years, with a possible two-year extension, and includes critical service elements such as 24/7 support and a web-based information system for health boards nationwide. The procurement has been executed due to heightened demands during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This procurement presents significant growth opportunities for businesses within the healthcare sector, specifically those specialising in home medical treatment services and oxygen supply systems. Companies that can offer reliable oxygen therapy solutions, respond swiftly to service demands, and provide robust support systems would be particularly well-suited to compete for similar contracts in the future. With the emphasis on quality patient care and the extended service requirements, providers with the capability to deliver efficient logistics and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations would be advantageous partners in this tendering landscape.
