Health Education England are putting out this notice as a PIN (Prior Information Notice) with a view to completing a Direct Award to Association for Clinical Biochemistry & Laboratory Medicine (ACB).

HEE is seeking to procure a short course on Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS), for both senior clinicians and scientists be developed and piloted.
HEE believes that it is highly unlikely that any other supplier will be able to provide the range of knowledge, expertise and experience that ACB has, to deliver the above course for the following reasons: -
* ACB is one of the worlds' leading professional membership organisations dedicated to the practice and promotion of clinical science.
* As the major body for clinical biochemistry, immunology, and microbiology in the United Kingdom, ACB work nationally and internationally to promote the highest standards in laboratory testing and patient care.
* ACB have medical and non-medical members in all major UK diagnostic and public health laboratories, in university departments and in several commercial companies involved in healthcare.
* ACB uniquely represent the majority of leaders in NHS pathology services who influence best practice in service delivery, diagnostics innovation and patient testing across the UK.
* ACB have the requisite knowledge and experience to deliver a short course on Whole Genome Sequencing & Big Data for senior clinicians and scientists.
