Summary of the contracting process

The University of Nottingham is currently conducting a tender for the supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of two types of benchtop flow cytometers—a 3 laser system and a 4 laser system—with a total contract value of £178,000. This procurement is classified under the category of laboratory, optical and precision equipment and is located in Nottingham, UK. The tender is at the planning stage, with the submission deadline set for 24th February 2022. This is an open procurement process, allowing all qualified suppliers to participate.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses that specialise in laboratory equipment supply and installation, particularly those with experience in flow cytometry technologies. Companies capable of delivering high-performance scientific instruments and technical support services would be well-suited to compete for this contract. Notably, suppliers who can demonstrate expertise in handling complex laboratory setups and ongoing maintenance will be particularly attractive to the University of Nottingham, which seeks to perform advanced analyses on biological samples.

Notice Title

Benchtop Flow Cytometers, a 3 Laser and a 4 Laser system, supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance

Notice Description

3 laser benchtop flow cytometer system and a 4 laser benchtop flow cytometer system, the University requests tenders from sufficiently experienced and qualified Suppliers to establish a contract for the Supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of.

Lot Information

Lot 1

The University requests tenders from sufficiently experienced and qualified Suppliers to establish a contract for the Supply, installation, commissioning and maintenance of a 3 laser benchtop flow cytometer system and a 4 laser benchtop flow cytometer system. The university expect to be able to perform high speed (>50ul/min and >20,000 events/second) flow cytometry on a range of cell (e.g. human peripheral blood mononuclear cells, bacteria and yeast) and particle suspensions (e.g. polystyrene beads, extracellular vesicles) enabling the resolution of multiple fluorescent parameters on every cell/particle within a population of >500,000 events. The systems should be able to resolve 8+ parameters simultaneously with a well optimised staining panel and to analyse small particles demonstrated by resolving 200nm polystyrene beads from noise. The system should be capable of taking samples in tube or 96 well plate format, with data to be output in standardised FCS compliant files.

Options: An option of up to an additional three years for technical support and maintenance services on an ongoing basis.
