Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is currently initiating a tender for the "Indicators and Warnings (I&W) Tool Contract Notice," aimed at acquiring an open-source intelligence service. This procurement falls under the industry category of "Industry specific software package" and is allocated a budget of £375,000. The tender period is set to conclude on 18th March 2022, with the contract expected to be awarded in June 2022 for a duration of three years. The procurement process follows a selective method under the restricted procedure, and submissions can be made electronically or in written form.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in software development, particularly those with expertise in open-source intelligence and alert systems. Companies that can provide web-based solutions capable of handling real-time data and delivering customisable alerts would be particularly well-suited for this opportunity. Additionally, those offering training and support services for software implementation may have a competitive advantage in the bidding process, given the MOD's requirement for initial and ongoing user training.
