Summary of the contracting process

The Communities & Housing Investment Consortium Ltd (CHIC) recently announced the award of contracts under their Optimised Retrofit Consultancy - Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the first quarter of 2026, covering energy-efficiency consultancy services. Situated in Birmingham, UK, CHIC functions as a body governed by public law and specialises in housing and community amenities. This procurement was conducted via a selective procurement method, specifically using a restricted procedure. The contracts, valued at approximately £500,000, were signed on 31 March 2026, with delivery expected across the United Kingdom region "UKG". The procurement category focuses on services within the energy efficiency domain, and the procurement has reached the award stage, with details accessible on CHIC's procurement webpage.

This tender opens a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in energy-efficiency consultancy and management services to establish a partnership with CHIC for implementing retrofit solutions across the UK. As the procurement utilises a dynamic purchasing system, once engaged, businesses can become eligible for future contracts across the system's tenure, which extends until 2029. Companies with expertise in building consultancy, architectural services, or construction engineering might find this DPS appealing, with no exclusivity or volume guarantees making it suitable for both large firms and SMEs. CHIC members, including registered providers of social housing, local authorities, and other UK public-sector bodies, may opt into this procurement, offering substantial scope for business growth and collaboration within the public sector housing and community amenities space.
