Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves the Corporate Officer of the House of Commons and the Corporate Officer of the House of Lords, seeking to acquire a secure entrance system, specifically an accessible security portal and revolving door under the title "GSP1280." This procurement falls under the category of security equipment and is located in London, United Kingdom. The current stage is the Award, with the contract valued at £175,000, signed on 31 March 2022. This process utilised a limited procurement method, with negotiations conducted without the publication of a contract notice, and was justified due to the unique technical requirements satisfied exclusively by the supplier, Meesons A.I Ltd.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in security equipment, particularly those focused on innovative, LPS1175 accredited products. Companies with expertise in manufacturing and supplying advanced security solutions, especially portals and doors suitable for sensitive installations, would be ideally positioned to compete in similar future tenders. Furthermore, given the critical nature of these installations, suppliers with strong quality control and certification processes will be favoured in the procurement landscape.
