Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves the London Borough of Barnet, which is seeking to construct the Brent Cross West Station as part of the wider Brent Cross Cricklewood development. This project falls under the category of civil engineering works, classified as CPV code 45200000. The contract has recently been awarded, with significant ongoing construction activities required to complete, commission, and operationalise the station by May 2022. The delivery location is in the London Borough of Barnet, and the overall contract value is approximately £50,132,337.75, with a duration of 900 days from the effective signing date of December 23, 2019.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses involved in civil engineering and construction, particularly those with capabilities in large-scale infrastructure projects. Companies that specialise in rail infrastructure, ancillary construction services, and those that can accommodate design modifications for complex projects will be particularly well-suited to compete. The requirements for both primary construction and additional ancillary works, such as those related to the eastern entrance and operational siding connections, suggest that a variety of SMEs and larger firms could collectively benefit from this initiative, contributing to business growth in the sector.
