Summary of the contracting process

The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office in the United Kingdom is currently undertaking a selective tender process for the "Nairobi High Commission Office Remodelling, Refurbishment & Security Upgrades" project. This procurement falls under the construction industry and is valued at £15 million. The tender is set to close on 17 June 2022, with an invitation for the second stage to be issued on 6 July 2022. The project involves extensive refurbishment work on the Nairobi High Commission, requiring skilled contractors to manage significant renovations, including security upgrades and operational maintenance throughout the construction period.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for construction firms, particularly those specialising in building refurbishments and security upgrades. Companies with experience in large-scale public sector projects, especially those familiar with compliance requirements concerning security clearances, will find themselves well-positioned to compete. The restricted tender process allows for a select number of qualified suppliers to participate, thus creating a focused competitive environment ideal for businesses looking to expand their portfolios in government contracting.
