Summary of the contracting process

The North Ayrshire Council is conducting an open tender for the installation and maintenance of network cabling and related services across its properties, including schools and community centres. This procurement process is in the active tender stage, with submissions due by 21 June 2022. The estimated value of this contract is £480,000, and it will be established as a framework agreement, potentially allowing for future engagement. Interested parties should note that the procurement process requires compliance with several quality and safety management procedures, alongside specific economic criteria related to turnover and experience.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in telecommunications and IT infrastructure, especially those adept in network cabling installations. Companies that can demonstrate relevant certifications such as ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001, alongside a proven track record in similar projects, will be well-positioned to compete. Additionally, the inclusion of community benefits highlights a preference for initiatives that promote job opportunities and support the local economy, further encouraging businesses that can deliver social value alongside technical services.
