"description": "Extension to the original agreement.",
"rationale": "Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee: The family safeguarding project was added as a variation to the core Integrated Adult Drug and Alcohol Treatment System contract in March 2020, the original agreement was for a period of 2 years. This service has now been extended until the end of the contract period so an additional variation to the contract was required. The price for this varied service is up to PS459,210 for the period 9 March 2022 to 31 March 2024. As a background, Cambridgeshire County Council has been awarded Trailblazer status by the DfE to implement the Family Safeguarding Model of Practice across Children's Services in Cambridgeshire. The Family Safeguarding Project aims to improve the protection and life chances of the highest risk children and families, delivering significant savings to the public purse. Adult practitioners from key partner services make up the family safeguarding team. The CGL service have employed 5 dedicated workers to work in this team."
