This contract, valued at £40 million, will utilise a mixed mode approach to conduct at least 70,000 interviews annually, with a specific concentration on transforming the survey methodology. Notice Title

Contract for the Provision of Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW)

Notice Description

The Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) provides essential statistics for measuring crime across England and Wales. The survey has traditionally been a face-to-face victimisation survey in which people resident in households in England and Wales are asked about their experiences of a range of crimes in the 12 months prior to the interview. Telephone interviews replaced face-to-face interview between May 2020 and March 2022 following the introduction of covid-19 restrictions. The ONS has been undertaking a programme of transformation for the CSEW and it is expected that the survey will operate as a mixed mode longitudinal survey in the future. The contract will require a mixed mode approach to fieldwork to deliver at least 70,000 interviews a year.
