Summary of the contracting process

NHS England has successfully completed the procurement process titled "Provision of an Existing Antimicrobial to the NHS in England via a Subscription-based Payment Model." This initiative falls under the healthcare industry, specifically within the category of general anti-infectives. The tender was conducted using a selective procurement method through competitive dialogue, with relevant key dates including the signing of the contract on 9th June 2022, and the contract's effective start date from 1st July 2022. The contract duration is initially for three years, with options to extend for up to seven additional years, covering delivery across the UK, particularly in England.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in pharmaceutical supplies, particularly those with licensed antimicrobials launched in the UK between 1st January 2017 and 31st December 2019 that address priority pathogens identified by the World Health Organisation. Companies that can meet these criteria, especially those experienced in contract-based supply models or those capable of providing innovative antimicrobial solutions, would be well-positioned to compete in this market, thereby contributing to business growth and addressing pressing healthcare needs.
