The PS19.9m Ministry of Justice Electronic Monitoring (EM) Innovation Fund provides a unique opportunity to break new ground in identifying and stimulating innovations to data, practice and technology and furthering the evidence base and our understanding of EM over the next three financial years.

The immediate objective of the Innovation Fund is to stimulate the EM community (academics, voluntary sector, justice system partners and incumbent and new suppliers) and beyond to develop evidence-based monitoring innovations that will help the MoJ to meet the vision, aims and objectives set out in our strategy (https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1086639/em-strategy.pdf) as well as assisting in the broader government goals of protecting the public and reducing reoffending. PS3.9m of funding is available in financial year 2022/23, followed by PS7.9m in 2023/24 and PS8.1m in 2024/25 to fund innovative small-scale pilots, tests and research projects which will enhance our understanding of 'what works' in electronic monitoring practice, as such a robust approach to evaluation and capturing evidence will be an expectation of all projects. During financial year 2022/23 we are particularly looking for innovative proposals in the following areas to meet our user problem statements: Data and Management Information (MI) Complementary Technologies Ways of Working Additional information: Supplier Engagement will be managed via the MOJ e-sourcing portal; Ministry of Justice Sourcing Portal (bravosolution.co.uk); Organisations that are not already registered need to register. Interested parties can find further information and register interest in the PIN via the MOJ e-sourcing suite- ITT_ 6326. Any resulting engagement will be managed electronically via the MoJ e-sourcing suite.
