Commissioning Support within the community to improve the health and wellbeing of Somerset's residents
Notice Description
This is not a call for competition and is not yet a contract opportunity. Somerset County Council commissions a broad range of non-statutory interventions within the community for people who have support needs, to ensure that they are supported in ways which maximise their control over their day-to-day life. These services promote independence through focussing on early intervention and prevention and ensure that care and support is provided in accordance with people's needs and goals that improves wellbeing, which includes their connectedness with others. Traditionally contracts and grants have been commissioned in separate silos, often resulting in duplication, inefficiencies and poor outcomes for the person using multiple services. Somerset County Council, in conjunction with partners and people who use services, would like to co-design a future community support offer as one. This will move towards providing a "one stop shop" approach which will enable people to be supported flexibly, receiving the right care, at the right time, in the right place. We would like to have an early conversation with community and voluntary sector providers, interested in co-producing the service and the delivery model. This initial meeting will include looking at services that are in scope and out of scope and considering different procurement options. It is anticipated that any new arrangements would commence on 1st April 2024.

An event will be held on 22nd September 2022 at 10:00am. Somerset County Council are inviting organisations, that might be interested in delivering these services either individually or in partnership with others to attend. The event will be an opportunity to inform and shape future options. Somerset County Council are keen to hear feedback from a range of providers as part of the wider consultation for this service. Organisations that take part will not be advantaged or disadvantaged in any way in any potential future formal procurement. Commercial confidentiality will be respected. This notice does not represent a formal commitment by Somerset County Council to undertake a procurement procedure. Event Details: * Date: Thursday 22nd September 2022 * Time: 10:00am to 12:00pm * Venue: t.b.c. Event Registration: To attend this event please send a message through the e-tender system www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk providing the name of your organisation, the name of the person(s) wishing to attend (Max 2 per organisation) and a contact email address for each to enable us to send through the full details of the event and the venue. Please ensure that those attending from your organisation are the most appropriate to feed into the discussions. If you are unable to attend the event, the presentation, notes and associated documentation will be available through the e-tender system www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk. Please respond by the deadline of 12:00pm on 19th September 2022 if you wish to attend. Thank you. SCC reserves the right to cancel or re-arrange this event at its own discretion.
