Single Homeless Project
Notice Description
The London Borough of Havering would like to invite Suppliers to a Market Engagement Event on Wednesday 12th October 2022 at 4:30-5:30pm to clarify key requirements of the Single Homeless Project. The Council wish to invite interested Suppliers to find out more about the tender opportunity, the needs and share any early feedback. This is not an invitation to tender. Procurement of a supplier to provide approx. 25 units of temporary housing for single homeless adults with complex needs including drug and alcohol dependency or mental health conditions.
Lot Information
Lot 1
The contracting authority currently operates a number of shared supported housing schemes for single people presenting as homeless. Increasingly, their Housing Solutions Team are handling single people with a range of complex needs including:- * History of Rough Sleeping * Drug dependency * Alcohol dependency * Mental health conditions Placing these individuals in standard shared supported housing has been problematic, with placements failing and frequent anti-social behaviour (ASB) disturbances being caused by residents and their visitors. Often these people require more intensive housing management and support as part of a wider independent living sustainment package. They are seeking to establish a further supported housing scheme which offers temporary housing for single adults (men and women) with complex needs. We would expect a supplier will be able to offer around 25 self-contained studio or 1 bedroom flats with shared facilities such as communal lounges and gardens. They may own the properties directly or lease them from private landlords. The units must be located within the London Borough of Havering. They will ensure that support staff are available on site 24 hours every day.
