The Department of Health and Social Care is planning a procurement process for the development of Care Certificate, dementia, and digital skills qualifications. The contract will be awarded by the end of November 2022, with an anticipated timeline of the ITT phase over October 2022. This procurement falls under the "Staff training services" category and aims to reform the adult social care workforce, aligning with the broader social care reforms outlined in the 'People at the Heart of Care' White Paper. Interested suppliers are encouraged to engage for potential opportunities by joining the relevant CCS framework. The deadline for expression of interest is March 31, 2022, with a possible contract award by April 2023.

This tender presents an opportunity for businesses specializing in training and qualifications development, particularly in the healthcare sector. Companies with expertise in creating educational programmes for staff training, including in areas such as care, dementia, and digital skills, would be well-suited to compete. The procurement process is set to create business opportunities for developing specifications for new qualifications that align with the care sector's needs. Interested suppliers are advised to keep pace with the project timeline to ensure timely delivery of qualification specifications by the start of the 2023/24 financial year. The Department reserves the right to discontinue the tendering process and not award the contract, emphasizing the need for interested parties to stay informed and responsive throughout the procurement stages.
