                    "description": "This extension falls within the requirements of regulation 72(1)(c) of the PCR 2015 (i) The need for modification has been brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority could not have foreseen. Having considered the responses to the RFI from potential suppliers there is a requirement to take account of the request for an appropriately extended mobilisation period between 20 - 36 weeks to allow for recovery of the service of backlogs resulting from Covid-19; as well as the need to review the viability of the financial envelope offered by benchmarking financial costs across AAA services and undertaking additional patient and wider stakeholder engagement. These requirements were not foreseeable to the Contracting Authority. (ii) The modification does not alter the overall nature of the contract. The 12-month modification from 01 April 2023 to 31 March 2024 will not result in any change to the overall nature of the AAA Screening Programme. (iii) Any increase in price does not exceed 50% of the value of the original contract or framework agreement. The 12-month extension value does not exceed 50% value of the original contract.",
