Lot Information
Lot 1
London Dial-a-Ride (DaR) is a subsidiary of London Bus Services Limited (LBSL). DaR operates approximately 262 vehicles, providing a door to door passenger service covering all of London's 33 boroughs. The service delivers a free and fully accessible transport service for disabled and elderly London residents. DaR vehicles currently operate from the following seven depots/ sub bases: Croydon, Fulwell, Mandela Way, North Wembley, Palmers Green, Wimbledon and Woodford. The purpose of this procurement is to identify a Service Provider for the provision of a tyre service for DaR mini-bus type vehicles to ensure that all vehicle tyres are fit for purpose i.e. not damaged or worn below the internal minimum tread depth limit of 2mm and to replace inadequate, damaged and worn tyres with new tyres. The depots have a stock of spare wheels which are used to replace damaged or worn tyres. While the vehicles are at a depot, DaR fits wheels to axles, as and when necessary, using the spare wheels. Once the stock of spare wheels runs low, DaR requests the Service Provider to attend to depots to remove old tyres and fit new tyres to the rims. This service shall include maintenance of detailed records, full maintenance of tyres including a four weekly inspection of tyres and repair and replacement as necessary. The tyre service is required from January 2023. Additional information: The Dial-a-Ride Tyre Services tender has been published on SAP Ariba.
