Notice Description

Derbyshire County Council is commissioning a service for children and young people who are affected by the substance misuse of others, to commence on 1 April 2017. The service shall provide high quality, age-appropriate and evidence based interventions to strengthen protective and resilience factors, reduce harm and develop coping strategies for children and young people (aged 5-18 years) who are affected by another person's Substance misuse (drugs and alcohol) to: * Reduce and manage the impact of the Substance misuse of others on children and young people; * Improve outcomes for children and young people by enabling them to develop coping strategies to deal with the impact of Substance misuse; * Enable children and young people to access activities, education and development opportunities related to their needs; * Improve the emotional health and wellbeing of children and young people affected by someone's Substance misuse; * Provide a safe, confidential space for children and young people to express their feelings, reduce isolation, build self-esteem and resilience. The Provider shall contribute towards ensuring that children and young people live in a safe environment and receive adequate supervision and guidance as appropriate for their age, and liaise and give advice and support to other carers or professionals who are also supporting them.
