A tender has been initiated by Somerset County Council for the provision of Commissioning Support within the community to improve the health and wellbeing of Somerset's residents. This procurement falls under the health and social work services category and is at the planning stage. Somerset County Council plans to co-design a future community support offer as one integrated approach, aiming to provide flexible care and support. Key dates include a market engagement event held on 22nd September 2022 and a further event scheduled for 08th December 2022 to focus on available options for commissioning and service delivery in the future. Any new arrangements are expected to commence on 1st April 2024. The procurement method is a tender, with the main procurement category being services.

This tender process presents an opportunity for organisations interested in delivering community support services to participate in a Soft Market Testing event on 08th December 2022. The event aims to gather feedback from potential providers and inform future options without creating any advantage or disadvantage in potential formal procurement. The event registration deadline is 06th December 2022. Notice Title

Commissioning Support within the community to improve the health and wellbeing of Somerset's residents

Notice Description

This is not a call for competition and is not yet a contract opportunity. Somerset County Council (SCC) commissions a broad range of non-statutory targeted interventions within the community for people who have support needs, to ensure that they are supported in ways which maximise their control over their day-to-day life. These services promote independence through focussing on early targeted intervention and prevention and ensure that care and support is provided in accordance with people's needs and goals that improves wellbeing, which includes their connectedness with others. Traditionally contracts and grants have been commissioned in separate silos, often resulting in duplication, inefficiencies and poor outcomes for the person using multiple services. Somerset County Council, in conjunction with partners and people who use services, would like to co-design a future community support offer as one. This will move towards providing a "one stop shop" approach which will enable people to be supported flexibly, receiving the right care, at the right time, in the right place. Further to the initial market engagement event held on 22nd September 2022, SCC would like to continue the conversation at a further event to take place on 08th December 2022 with a view to focussing in on some of the available options for the commissioning and delivery these services in the future. It is anticipated that any new arrangements would commence on 1st April 2024.
