Summary of the contracting process

Newcastle University has awarded Crimson Limited a contract for the provision of services related to the Student Admissions System Phase 3 project. The procurement process, which was completed under a tender initiation type, utilised a limited procurement method with negotiation without publication of a contract notice. The University justified the award based on Crimson's existing partnership and unique capabilities, preventing competition for technical reasons. The contract, valued at £210,000 GBP, was signed on 29th November 2022.

This opportunity to supply services for the Admissions System Project could be beneficial for businesses specialising in IT services, consulting, software development, and support. The University's commitment to ongoing support and the system's specific requirements make it well-suited for collaborators with expertise in delivering tailored solutions and providing long-term operational assistance. Businesses with a focus on innovation and customisation within the education sector could find this tender particularly attractive for fostering growth and establishing strategic partnerships.
