Notice Title

Provision of Acoustics Training Devices - PIN

Notice Description

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) requires a Synthetic Training Aid to be used as part of the training solution for Weapon Systems Operator (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) (WSOp(ISR)) Acoustics. The equipment must replicate a fixed-wing acoustic processor and include an accurate oceanographic model with representative and modifiable target signatures up to SECRET classification. Between 3 and 4 systems are required where one system is 2 trainees operating as individuals or a pair and one instructor with an instructor operating system (IOS) to enable instruction and scenario control. Each system should simulate up to 15 acoustic targets, controlled by the present scenario or through the IOS. Acoustic targets shall be presented on multiple displays as selected by the operator and display narrowband and broadband passive and active information. The equipment is required for use from Mar 23 therefore, a proven system requiring minimum development or modification is necessary in order to minimise any requirement for RAF Acoustic SME involvement or assistance in delivery and to facilitate a rapid training capability to overcome current equipment obsolescence issues. The Authority is expected to run an Open Competition with an Accelerates 15 day tender process under Public contract regulations 2015 for the above requirement. Predicted dates: Tender to market: 03/01/2023 Clarification Question close: 11/01/2023 Tender close: 17/01/2023 To note: This PIN is not a means to seek formal expressions of interest; this opportunity may become available in the future through the publication of a formal contract notice that will be published on the Defence Sourcing Portal (DSP). Any dates mention are subject to change and are non-committal.
