Notice Description
Surrey County Council (SCC) is looking to commission its Personal Support services and would like to hear from organisations who have experience in this area of provision. This is not an invitation to tender. SCC has a statutory duty to support disabled children, young people and their families with short breaks. Personal support services are part of the overall short breaks offer, providing care and support within the home and also outside the home supporting children and young people to access and be included in social and leisure actives in their local communities * The Personal Support service is a countywide service which provides support to children and families across Surrey who are open to the Children with Disabilities social care team. * The aim of the service is to provide respite care for children and their families across Surrey in accordance with their care plans, supporting children in the home and in the community. * Support packages are commissioned individually, according to child and family's needs. Some of the care plans will require transportation, for example to take children to the swimming pool or take part in other activities. * The service covers a range of activities including personal care, building independence, life skills, behavioural management and supporting children with complex health needs. * The contract does not include nursing care or domestic duties. SCC is carrying out a Soft Market Test exercise and would like to invite Providers with relevant experience to complete and return a questionnaire in relation to Personal Support services. The detailed service requirements are still in development, and information gathered from this Soft Market Test will inform the Service Specification and key outcomes as well as the procurement process. The Council intends this Soft Market Test questionnaire will be followed by further Market Engagement Events to share upcoming plans for the Personal Support Service procurement.
