Summary of the contracting process

The London Museum has awarded contracts for the New Museum Project involving three major trade packages: TP3500-West Poultry Avenue Glazing, TP3501-Lunettes Glazing, and Steel Windows. This procurement award focuses on refurbishment and restoration of facades, involving significant glazing work in the Camden and City of London areas. The awarding of these contracts occurs at the completion stage of the procurement process, with the contracts signed in 2024. Notable dates include the award for West Poultry Avenue Glazing on 16 July 2024, Lunettes Glazing on 3 October 2024, and Steel Windows on 9 April 2024. The procurement method applied is a selective, restricted procedure, ensuring the selection of the most suitable contractors, and encompasses works primarily classified under glazing work (CPV 45441000).

This tender opens up significant opportunities for businesses specialising in glazing, structural glass installations, and heritage window systems to engage in high-profile restoration projects at a historic location. Companies that can deliver quality glazing and steel window installations within strict timelines and budgets are well-suited to compete. The procurement method allows for large-scale businesses like Novum Structures Ltd, Seele (UK) Limited, and West Leigh Limited to demonstrate their capabilities, which could lead to further contracts in similar renovation projects. By participating, these enterprises can not only grow their portfolio in the heritage and public sector but also gain prestige associated with the landmark project at the London Museum.
