Procurement Information
It is the Contracting Authority's intention to directly award a contract based on the following justification; The justification for this VEAT notice is to allow continuation of this crucial service, in line with the development of the Urgent Care Business case, which continues and is expected to be completed, presented and an outcome confirmed during the 2023/24 financial year. The Contracting Authority is currently working with partners on urgent care redesign which will transform how urgent care is delivered across the district. This aims to integrate services and simplify access to urgent and emergency care in line with national recommendations. This includes meeting the requirements of the national service specification for Integrated Urgent Care. Complexities and interdependences within the programme and the extent of the transformation make it significant and ambitious. The Contracting Authority has been working on improving access to urgent-primary care for a number of years, responding to the ongoing release of new national schemes and delivering these through effective programme management. If the service was not to continue then there would be undue risk, as there would be no available, alternative service capacity. The award of contract would therefore maintain urgent care access for patients through the time of transformational change to service provision.
