HPFT - Crisis House
Notice Description
Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT, the Trust) is looking to commission a new service that will promote and embed support for people experiencing a mental health crisis to recover and remain living in the community. The crisis house will serve as an alternative to admission into hospital for people who are experiencing a mental health crisis. It will offer a safe therapeutic environment for a crisis to be managed. The crisis house will be part of a crisis/admission alternatives pathway including Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment (CRHT) Teams and Host Families, alongside VCSFE provision from our local partners including a Crisis Cafe. Bidders will be required to demonstrate previous experience of delivering mental health services for people in a crisis.

Lot 1
The crisis house will serve as an alternative to admission into hospital for people who are experiencing a mental health crisis. It will offer a safe therapeutic environment for a crisis to be managed.
The service will contribute to delivery of the following long-term outcomes:
* Fewer adults in Hertfordshire are admitted into inpatient services for mental health crises
* More adults in Hertfordshire with long-term mental illness have an improved healthy life expectancy
* More adults in Hertfordshire have improved mental wellbeing
* More adults in Hertfordshire with long-term mental illness are able to self-manage their conditions
* Reduced rates of suicide in Hertfordshire
The service will deliver the following short-medium term outcomes:
* People in Hertfordshire who are experiencing a mental health crisis are supported to recover and remain living in the community
* People will feel safe and supported in an alternative to an inpatient ward or their home
* Fewer adults in Hertfordshire are admitted to an out of area placement.
Bids will be accepted for a Crisis House with 5 - 7 beds and the financial envelope reflects this flexibility. The maximum financial envelope per bed for the contract is PS66,700 p/annum. As such the contract value for 5 years is between PS1,667,500 - PS2,334,500 (depending on the number of beds).
It is essential that bidders have previous experience of delivering mental health services for people in a crisis and can demonstrate the benefits to service users, carers and the local health care system.
Renewal: Contract may be extended for a further +1 +1 Years
