The aim is to provide fast track physiotherapy assessment and treatment services to support officers and staff with musculoskeletal conditions or injuries. The current service provision is ending on 30th September 2023, prompting the need for a new procurement process. Lot Information

Lot 1

This procurement is being administered by the South West Police Procurement Service (SwPPS). The SwPPS is hosted and managed by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon and Cornwall. It administers most of the procurements for goods, services and works undertaken by the respective Police and Crime Commissioners and Chief Constables of Avon & Somerset, Devon and Cornwall, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. The South West Police Forces look to support early return to work and/or full operational duties for operational officers and staff who are suffering with acute musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions or injuries by providing 'fast track' physiotherapy assessment and treatment services. MSK absence is one of the largest absenteeism categories and this service is utilised to help manage short term and long term absence. The objective of having the physiotherapy provision in place is to provide assistance through rapid access to treatment for MSK injury: to ensure individuals are fit to undertake their role and to promote the physical wellbeing of staff. This is not a substitute for NHS treatment, but is used to provide quicker response for employees with acute pain before their NHS treatment becomes available. Therefore, a predominant feature of the treatment provided must be patient education and provision of instructions about the rehabilitation of an injury or illness. The Region's current service provision is coming to an end on 30th September 2023 and as such the SwPPS will shortly be conducting an open procurement process for the provision of the future service provision. The SwPPS now wish to conduct some pre-procurement engagement with the market to engage with Suppliers to ensure the specification is fit for purpose and maximise value for money within the service provision. Suppliers are encouraged to get in touch with: Hannah Di Stefano Senior Category Buyer for the SwPPS hannah.distefano@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk
