The MOD needs to minimise the effect upon its aircraft operations caused by collisions with birds and wildlife. The MOD has a legal responsibility to ensure that its operations are conducted in as safe a manner as is reasonably practicable. An Independent Specialist advisor is required to provide advice and assurance which forms part of this process.
