Summary of the contracting process

The Shetland Islands Council has conducted a tender process for an Engineering Inspection Programme. The contract, which was unsuccessful, aimed to procure services for inspections across Shetland. The procurement method was an open procedure governed by specific regulations. The contracting authority, Shetland Islands Council, specified that inspections must be carried out by UKAS Registered companies. The tender was cancelled, and the location for the services was defined as Shetland Islands and as required by the Contracting Authority.

This tender process presented an opportunity for qualified inspection service providers to compete for business with the Shetland Islands Council. The nature of the contract required a track record of successful service delivery and adherence to specific regulatory frameworks. Businesses with expertise in engineering, construction, and inspection services would have been well-suited to bid for this opportunity, given the location and scope of the inspection works specified in the tender.
