Notice Information
Notice Title
National Kinship Data Care Set
Notice Description
We are looking to produce a new one off, national kinship care data set, derived from all local authorities across the country. Local authorities should already hold the data we are wanting to collect, however in rare cases some of the data will have to be first collected at local level.
Lot Information
Lot 1
The Independent Review of Children's Social Care suggested improving consistency of kinship care data and concluded that the current data landscape hindered policymaking and provided only a partial understanding of those cohorts. We are looking to produce a new one off, national kinship care data set, derived from all local authorities across the country. Local authorities should already hold the data we are wanting to collect, however in rare cases some of the data will have to be first collected at local level. The national collection will be focused on data about the kinship carer cohort. For example, we would like the data collection to include: * Size of the kinship carer cohort, including special guardians and family and friend foster carers * Size of the children in kinship care cohort * Characteristics of children in kinship care * Characteristics of kinship carers We would like the data to be analysed at local, regional and national level, and to be delivered in a report format. There will be a Market Engagement session on TBC and TBC am/pm. Please email emilie.wilkinson@education.gov.uk to be added to the invite for this session.
