The University is now having to extend the contract by a further 12 months up to 31st July 2024. The university has had to manage the inflationary impact on Contract prices.",
                    "rationale": "Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee: The Contract was entered into for an initial period of 12 months to enable the University to commence and complete a new procurement exercise for replacement contract. This would allow time for the University refurbishment project to be completed in order to allow a detailed and updated specification to be developed. There has has been some delay in the refurbishment project due matters outside of the control of the university which now requires the University to delay the start of the new procurement exercise. The University has therefore decided to extend the interim contract by a further 12 month period up to the 31st of July 2024. It is intended that this will provide sufficient time for the refurbishment project to be completed and consideration for the University's future plans for this service. This will also give an opportunity to prepare for a re procurement exercise which will maximise market interest and also the University's requirements."
