The Contract was entered into for an initial period of 12 months to enable the University to commence and complete a new procurement exercise for replacement contract. This would allow time for the University refurbishment project to be completed in order to allow a detailed and updated specification to be developed. There has been some delay in the refurbishment project due matters outside of the control of the university which now requires the University to delay the start of the new procurement exercise.
