Lot Information

Lot 1

NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde is leading on the provision of a digital platform for supporting patients with long-term chronic medical conditions (i.e. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) within NHS Scotland and wishes to put in place a single supplier framework. This PIN Seeks further market information. COPD is a common, progressive, preventable and treatable respiratory disorder that affects 120,000 people in Scotland, and is forecast to become the third leading cause of death worldwide by 2030. It is characterised by frequent exacerbations that result in a reduction in quality of life and disease progression for patients. Over 25% of the COPD population are considered to have high risk/severe COPD. Currently NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (GGC) is using an innovation solution to provide a COPD Digital Service to re-orientate and channel shift clinical services and better respond to clinical delivery pressures. The COPD Digital Service allows the clinical monitoring of COPD patients while at home. Having proved the value of home monitoring in terms of patient benefit, clinical staff time, and hospital appointment costs, it is time to move this innovation project into a business as normal process available to all patients in NHS GGC and potentially other Scottish Health Boards. Although this PIN specifically references COPD, the platform described in Section 5 of the attached document may be applied to manage Patients with other long-term conditions. NHS GGC is leading on this procurement exercise but it is anticipated other NHS Boards in Scotland may use a potential single supplier framework which could result from a future tender exercise
