Notice Title
CCC - Care Workers Portal
Notice Description
Across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough there are approximately 380 care providers and 19,400 individuals employed to (15,500 in direct care roles) support citizens who require care and support (Skills for Care, 2022). As a partnership of two local authorities, we need to support our providers and develop the market to respond to the growth in demand for care and support and we are in the process of setting out a new workforce strategy for adult social care. Part of this strategy includes ambition to establish a support model for delivering and recording training for care professionals working in independent and local authority services. To meet the ambitions set out in our strategy the Authority are seeking to procure the services of an organisation to host a subscription based online platform which will: a. provide information on training and a list of recommended training providers; b. provide a mechanism for individuals and care providers to log training achieved; c. provide incentives for individuals and care providers to participate in recommended training; and d. provide a mechanism for quality assuring the delivery and assessment of the Care Certificate that our contracted care providers are carrying out. By investing in this model, we hope to improve the take up and quality of training of care professionals across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, and therefore ultimately improve the care service that our vulnerable residents receive. The online service needs to be available for care professional in direct care roles working across all care providers (CQC, non-CQC, domiciliary, residential and community services) and their employers across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The service will be free at the point of access for care professionals and their employers as will be funded directly by the Authority.
