Notice Description
This is a Contract Award Notice. The work tendered: The GLA requires a Service Provider to deliver the second phase of this Early Connect London Pilot, which is anticipated to take place from February to September 2024. This phase is the engagement of employers who may have suitable vacancies for the unsuccessful UCAS applicants the GLA will be working with. Drawing from their pre-established employer network, the Service Provider will be required to identify opportunities which can be made available to interested 18-year-olds. The service Provider will provide an intermediary service to connect young people to employer. The Service Provider will be required to increase the number of young Londoners entering apprenticeships, and to identify the best ways to encourage and support them to do so. The successful tenderer will making young people aware of apprenticeship opportunities they can access and will also provide a wraparound service to young people to support them apply for these opportunities. Employers also regularly lack knowledge of how to attract and support apprentices. Our pilot can support them by highlighting existing resources already in place to support candidates from groups that are underrepresented in the workplace or face structural barriers. This would build on the work developed by the GLA's Workforce Integration Network that provides resources to support London's employers to be more inclusive and represent London's diversity.
