Lot Information

Lot 1

The contract for Community Dermatology Services covers a wide range of enhanced primary care with special interest based services delivered to the population of Primary Care Networks within North Kirklees. The contract is activity based with the contract holder being responsible to provide services directly and work in collaboration with other providers of services to ensure a local and accessible service is delivered to patients. Following a review of the service and the incumbent provider's past and current performance and capability and capacity to provide the services required over the intended contract period, the commissioner is satisfied that the contract is capable of being by that provider whilst planning continues in view of service delivery across the Kirklees area. This is a VEAT notice for the direct award of contract of 1 year (with an option to extend for a further 1 year to the incumbent provider).

Procurement Information

Commissioners are confident that a direct award of contract to a single provider without advertisement is justified and are satisfied that the overall contract is capable of being provided only by that provider. . The Commissioner's guiding principles being: * the requirement to commission services from those providers that are most capable of securing the needs of health care service users and improving the quality and efficiency of services, and that provide the best value for money in doing so. * the requirement to consider appropriate means of improving NHS health care services The Commissioner is carrying out a detailed equitable review (as part of a wider review of long-term requirements) of the provision of community dermatology service in its local area to understand how this service can be improved in the short-term and, as part of that review, identified the most capable provider of this service. . The proposal developed a recommendation in respect of the continuation of this provider for the service for a further 12-month period, plus the option to extend by 12 months. The review identified the following benefits of continuation of the provider for this service: Will aid future equitable transformation and development of the future service model and delivery of the aims of the NHS Long Term Plan priorities. The purpose of this direct award of contract is to allow continuation of this service in the short term, in line with the developments of transformation of equitable community delivered care across the Kirklees footprint. It is acknowledged that this phase of the programme needs to be developed in collaboration across the system, to ensure that the place delivers consistent service outcomes to our populations and consistent access and pathways through our community and secondary care services.
