Summary of the contracting process

The Children First Academy Trust, in cooperation with SSC Partnership Limited, has awarded a contract for school cleaning services under the open procedure to European Cleaning Services Limited. This procurement, classified under CPV code 90919300, encompasses several primary schools in the UK region UKI54, including Brettenham, Fleecefield, Galliard, Raynham, and Wilbury Primary Schools. The initial contract term is set for three years starting from 1st July 2024, with an optional extension of up to two additional years. The evaluation method used was the Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT), comprising both mandatory and desirable criteria, with a focus on technical and quality management (70%) and price (30%). The contract, valued at £2,200,000, was signed on 28th June 2024.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in outsourced cleaning services, particularly those familiar with educational environments' needs and standards. Companies with robust technical and quality management capabilities are well-positioned to benefit, particularly SMEs, which made up eight of the nine bids submitted. Given the contract's substantial value and the potential five-year duration, successful bidders stand to gain considerable long-term revenue. Furthermore, the engagement requires adherence to legal and health and safety standards, making it ideal for businesses with expertise in comprehensive facility management and operational communication.
