This joint PhD project, with a One Health focus, looks to fill critical gaps in our knowledge of how the nutritional landscape impacts mosquito immunity, behaviour, and by extension, disease transmission risk. The aim of this research is to conduct controlled studies to determine the direct effect of phytochemicals on pathogens in vitro and in vivo, the effect of nectar feeding on mosquito immunity, vector competence and vectorial capacity.
