Framework for the Supply only of Highways Materials

Notice Description

Westmorland and Furness Council is responsible for the strategic local services within the Council boundaries. The highways team within the Council is responsible for a highway's asset comprising over 4,343km of road. The Materials to be delivered under this framework are to facilitate highway maintenance works to repair potholes and worn-out carriageway and minor drainage and civil engineering works carried out by County's in-house operations teams.

Lot 1 Bituminous materials

LOT 1 - BITUMINOUS COATED MATERIALS The products are described as per BS EN 13108

Lot 2 Ready mixed concrete

LOT 2 - READY MIX CONCRETE All constituent materials [e.g. Cement & Aggregates] are manufactured to a harmonised standard and under the Construction Products Regulations are required to be CE marked and have been tested at source in accordance to relevant standards, namely: - Cement - BS EN 197-1: Cement - Part 1: Composition, specification and conformity criteria for common cements Aggregates - BS EN 12620 - Aggregates for Concrete With guidance from BS8500 Part 2

LOT 3 - DRY AGGREGATES

LOT 3 - DRY AGGREGATES Products included: 1. Unbound aggregate: Pipe bedding Drainage 2. Unbound aggregate: Granular fill, General fill, Capping, Gabion filling 3. Unbound aggregate: Unbound mixtures [sub base] 4. Aggregate for concrete 5. Chippings 6. Topsoil 7. Fine aggregate

LOT 4 - DEFERRED SET ASPHALT

LOT 4 - DEFERRED SET ASPHALT Data Sheets shall be provided for each of the products in the price list. The Data Sheets shall include the requirements for temperatures for storage and installation of the product. Recommended rates of spread shall also be provided. For HAPAS and Non-HAPAS Certified Instant Road Repair Materials, full details of technical performance are required including current aggregate properties, initial type test certificates, cohesion information for bond coats for all constituent materials. Rates to include all transport and handling charges associated with delivery, as well as all charges for collection of empty drums from various Depots located within the area of Westmorland and Furness Council as listed in Appendix A of the specification.

LOT 5 - DRAINAGE PRODUCTS Pipes for drainage. Pipes for Service ducts. Chambers, Covers and Gratings. Gullies.

LOT 6 - CONCRETE AND CIVIL ENGINEERING PRODUCTS

Including: Precast Concrete Kerbs, Channels, Edgings and Quadrants. Footways and Paved Areas (Precast Concrete Flags and Natural Stone Slabs). Footways and Paved Areas (Concrete Block Paving). Footways and Paved Areas (Clay Pavers). Cement. Masonry Units (Bricks). Blocks. Anchorages, Dowels, Fixings and Ties. Austenitic Stainless Steel. Gabions. Geotextiles and Geotextile-related Products Used to Separate Earthworks Materials.
