London Trams is implementing regular groove cleaning in the town centre to mitigate the risk of obstructions caused by foreign objects and debris within the flange way. Recognising the unique characteristics of each site, cleaning method encompasses mechanical approach using approved rail plant machine or purpose-built street cleaning vehicles. The scope of the groove cleaning activities encompasses mechanical cleaning within highway sections, and segregated sections of the Tramway. Additionally, the scope covers the Integrated and Segregated On-Street Sections of the Tramway identified as the "Town Centre"
