Summary of the contracting process

The University of Glasgow has awarded the contract for the provision of a 3D single cell multi-omic laser to Stellaromics, Inc. This tender, referenced as PURCH2394, falls under the industry category of electrical machinery, apparatus, equipment, and consumables, with a focus on goods. The process utilised an open procedure, leading to the successful award on January 17, 2025, after an accelerated procurement. The delivery location for the goods is Glasgow, within the region code UKM82. The contract, valued at £384,000, includes options for extending servicing for three additional year-long periods following the initial warranty period. The procurement stage for this contract has moved past the award phase and is marked as complete as of the most recent update in February 2025.

This contract presents significant business growth opportunities for companies specialising in advanced imaging technology and laboratory equipment, particularly those capable of providing high-resolution, multi-omic laser systems. Businesses with a strong track record in technical specifications, service support, software solutions, training, and efficient delivery and installation processes are well-suited to compete in such tenders. Additionally, given the concern for community benefits and value-for-money criteria, SMEs and other organisations contributing to local employment and training initiatives, as well as supply chain development, will find this an appealing opportunity. The University’s commitment to community engagement further incentivises participation from businesses aligned with these values.
