Prosecution and Legal Services 2024
Notice Description
The Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), an executive agency of the Department for Transport (DfT), has awarded a multi-supplier contract for the following requirement. The contracts will be subject to the terms of the specification for the Provision of Prosecution and Legal Services, and will be for an initial term of 4 (four) years. DVSA are responsible for carrying out various enforcement functions on a number of different schemes relating to road safety. As a result of this activity, various types of offences are detected by DVSA Examiners and Investigators which may justify prosecution action through the court system. Once a decision has been taken to prosecute, the case papers are passed over to the DVSA Prosecution and Legal Services team ("PLS"), based in Bristol. PLS is responsible for progressing cases through the courts; dealing with all matters including the laying of information, adjournments, conclusion of the case and reporting back to the DVSA Network customer.
