Notice Description

NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit are issuing this Prior Information Notice on behalf of NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board (ICB) who are seeking initial engagement and feedback from the market to establish potential interest to deliver the future provision of Community Eating Disorder Support Service for Children & Young People in Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. The notice has been issued subject to The Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 for the Procurement of Healthcare Services, to establish market interest in the services here described. The ICB has not made any decisions with regards to which PSR process to follow in accordance with PSR at this time, and is looking for responses that may guide their decision making in this regard for the future. Potentially interested parties are invited to respond to the questions within Atamis project C300124 to express an interest and to give feedback on the specification enclosed and estimated financial envelope (PS250k) with this Early Supplier Involvement advertisement. Full details of the service are set out in the Specification within Annex 1.

The purpose of the Community Eating Disorder Support Service is to deliver mild to moderate interventions for Children & Young People (C&YP) CEDS across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR). The service will be skilled in early detection and identification of eating disorders as well as delivering a range of interventions to mild and moderate (sub-clinical) eating disorder presentations through an embedded pathway with CAMHS Eating Disorder Service (CAMHS ED). Accepting step down following triage and direct access referrals. The service will also be focused on prevention and through its work proactively deliver campaigns through a range of social media channels and work across the education sector delivering early intervention psychoeducation workshops to students and teachers. As part of the non-clinical early intervention and prevention services, C&YP will receive direct access to evidence-based information, CBT-T & CBT-E therapeutic support, and advice in key areas of concern around their eating disorder or disordered eating. The service will have an integrated pathway with the existing CAMHS ED service and utilise the key age range of 5 to 25 years, integrated services provided will include Adult ED and Eating Disorders, in Student Services delivering continuity of care for children transitioning directly into adult services whether or not they move onto university at the age of 18 years. This helps support the NHS Long Term Plan for an additional 326 C&YP aged 18-25 receiving treatment from an NHS-funded community MH service. The service will also contribute towards the target of 18,165 C&YP receiving treatments from an NHS- funded community MH services by 2025. The service will deliver a non-clinical early intervention and prevention service for Children & Young People (C&YP) aged 5-25 who have an eating disorder or disordered eating.
