Summary of the contracting process

The Newham Community Learning Trust, a highly successful Trust comprising six schools in London, is undertaking a tender process for cleaning services across its institutions. This restricted procedure falls under the Light Touch Regime and aims to secure a professional cleaning contractor to deliver excellent year-round service. The procurement process is currently at the tender stage, with a submission deadline set for 23rd September 2024. The contract, valued at approximately £4,500,000, is scheduled to commence on 15th February 2025 and will initially span three years, with the possibility of a two-year extension subject to mutual agreement. The location for this tender is Newham, London, within the education sector, classified as school cleaning services.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities for companies specialising in school cleaning services, particularly those with experience in handling operations in large educational trusts. With a sizeable contract value and the potential for extension based on performance, businesses with robust financial models and the ability to comply with TUPE regulations stand to benefit greatly. Suitable businesses would include those capable of managing large teams and delivering consistent, high-quality cleaning services across multiple locations. Additionally, firms with experience in working within the London Boroughs and who can either work with or gain Admitted Body Status (ABS) for the Local Government Pension Scheme will have a competitive advantage.
