Summary of the contracting process

The Common Services Agency, commonly known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), has initiated a tender with the title "NSS04724 Workforce Specialist Services" under the industry category of counselling services. The procurement process is in the Planning stage, with the contract expected to commence on 1st April 2025. The contract will run for three years with an option to extend for an additional two years. The location for the service delivery is primarily in Scotland (region UKM). Interested parties are expected to provide notes of interest by 2nd October 2024, with the full tender notice planned for publication on 30th October 2024. This project is part of an open procedure procurement method, ensuring broad competitive participation.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses with expertise in providing mental health and addiction services, particularly those adept at supporting regulated health and social care professionals. Companies with a background in confidential counselling, risk management, and therapeutic care are well-suited to compete. The service is anticipated to support approximately 700 individuals annually, providing an essential service to professionals who face barriers to confidential care due to their roles. Businesses capable of offering a multi-professional team to manage and treat these conditions, along with specialisms in addiction therapy, will find this contract beneficial for growth and expansion within the healthcare sector. The emphasis on quality, innovative care solutions, and the ability to support advisory functions aligns with service capabilities for potential providers.
