Summary of the contracting process

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has initiated a tender process for the "Mobile Diagnostic and Treatment Units Dynamic Purchasing System". This procurement is categorised under 'Vehicle bodies, trailers or semi-trailers' and pertains to the UK healthcare sector. The process is currently in the tender stage, with key dates including the end of the tender period on 2nd September 2028. The project aims to enhance access to diagnostic and treatment services across various locations, including hospital sites and more remote areas such as supermarkets and GP practices. The procurement method is a restricted procedure, and suppliers can compete for one or more of the three outlined Lots involving hire, lease, purchase, or managed service of mobile units, with a total estimated value of £30,000,000.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the healthcare equipment manufacturing and leasing sectors. Companies providing vehicle bodies, trailers, or semi-trailers equipped for medical use, as well as those offering managed services including staffing and consumables, will find this tender particularly relevant. By engaging in this procurement process, suppliers can build long-term partnerships with NHS organisations, contributing to the alleviation of patient backlogs and improving clinical capacity. This opportunity is well-suited for businesses with capabilities in delivering high-specification mobile units and offering flexible service models to healthcare providers.

Notice Title

Mobile Diagnostic and Treatment Units Dynamic Purchasing System

Notice Description

This DPS will offer mobile diagnostic and/or treatment units to healthcare and/or other organisations in the UK public sector. These units within the NHS would increase capacity within organisations to help facilitate the delivery of the elective programme and to help with waiting lists, patient backlogs and lack of staff availability/space. Suppliers would work closely with healthcare organisations to deliver easily accessible treatments or diagnostics, either on hospital sites or closer to patients homes in more remote areas (for example at supermarkets, GP practices etc.). By working with healthcare organisations, suppliers will relieve pressure on services by improving access to treatments and bed space, reducing patient waiting times and freeing up clinical capacity. Units are usually provided in the form of vans or non-permanent units/cabins. The DPS will be in three Lots: Lot 1 - Hire or Lease of Mobile Diagnostic and/or Treatment Unit(s) Lot 2 - Purchase of Mobile Diagnostic and/or Treatment Unit(s) Lot 3 - Mobile Diagnostic and/or Treatment Unit(s) as a Managed Service Applications may be made to one or more Lots.
