Summary of the contracting process

The Communities and Housing Investment Consortium Limited (CHIC), headquartered in Birmingham, UK, is overseeing the procurement process titled "CHIC Mechanical & Electrical Framework 2025-2029". This framework targets the central-heating installation industry under the Works category. The procurement covers both refurbishment and replacement works and new builds, involving mechanical and electrical systems across a variety of properties managed by CHIC members. Key dates include updates on 15th April 2025, and the contract awards announced on 14th April 2025. The awarded contracts, part of an open procurement method were signed on 17th March 2025. The scope includes two lots: "Mechanical and Heating Systems" and "Electrical and Ventilation Systems" across regions in the UK.

This 4-year framework agreement offers significant growth opportunities for businesses specializing in the specified workstreams. The two lots under the framework ensure extensive work for heating systems and electrical installations, including low-carbon technologies, battery storage, and various ventilation systems. Businesses with competencies in gas, oil, electric hot water systems, renewable energy installations, electrical rewiring, and periodic testing are particularly suited to compete for these contracts. The tender also indicates a high value, with a workplace-driven focus on quality, social contributions, and competitive pricing, which can foster substantial growth and sustainable business development.
