Summary of the contracting process

The industry category falls under public road transport services, with the procurement stage set at the award and contract phase. Interested suppliers should note that these contracts cover a mix of rural and urban routes, vital for local connectivity and public transport services under the Transport Act 1985.

This tender provides considerable opportunities for businesses in the transport sector, particularly those specialising in public road transport services. Companies like Red Rose Travel Ltd and Carousel Buses Ltd, who have already secured contracts, demonstrate the high potential for businesses to expand their service reach and secure long-term contracts. Given the nature of these services, firms with a robust fleet and expertise in managing both rural and urban routes are well-suited to compete and succeed in this procurement process. The open procedure ensures a fair bidding process, allowing multiple suppliers to bid for different Lots, creating a competitive environment that can lead to business growth and regional service improvements.
