Summary of the contracting process

The NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board has completed a procurement process titled "GP Local Enhanced Services and Quality Contract - The Mathews Practice" as of April 2024. This process was for the award of general practitioner services under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Regulations 2023, explicitly exempt from the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The contract, aimed at delivering locally enhanced services to the Sheffield population, falls under the industry category of health care services. The procurement stage is at the Award phase, and the contract duration spans from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025. The procurement method employed was a direct award without prior publication of a call for competition, catering specifically to providers already holding a contract via the GP Framework.

This tender offers significant opportunities for business growth within the healthcare sector, particularly for existing general practitioner groups already integrated into the GP Framework. By participating, businesses can benefit from a steady stream of activity-based payments based on local pricing, leading to predictable revenue flow. Moreover, the integration into locally enhanced services (LCS) alongside existing GP services ensures a comprehensive scope for patient care, enhancing service providers' profiles and strengthening community health outcomes. Practices that can demonstrate alignment with the GP Framework and the capacity to deliver both core and enhanced services would be particularly well-suited to compete for such tenders.

Lot Information

Lot 1

This contract Award has been made following direct award process A of the Provider Selection Regime.

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount.

The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract will be from 01/04/2024 to 31/03/2025. Additional information: The contract Award has been made following direct award process A of the Provider Selection Regime
