Dorset Council is currently in the planning stage for a public procurement process titled "Market Engagement for Dorset Carers Support Service." This initiative falls under the Health and Social Work Services industry category and is located in Dorchester, Dorset (UKK25). As part of its services procurement, a Market Engagement Event will be held on Monday, 25th November 2024, from 10:00 to 11:30 am via MS Teams. Interested parties must email the adultscommissioningteam@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk by 5 pm on 24th November 2024 to attend. The tender is anticipated to be published in March 2025 following the initial market engagement and application process to join the Dorset Care, Support, Housing, and Community Safety Framework, specifically Lot 22.

This engagement presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in providing services to unpaid carers. It is particularly suited for innovative and creative service providers, including consortiums, who can work within a community-based support framework. The scope includes identifying carers, managing a carers register, and delivering information, advice, support groups, and training, excluding supported living and home care. Participation in this project can open doors for growth in the health and social care sector by enabling businesses to establish a foothold in the regional market, helping to support unpaid carers through preventative and strength-based support services.
